Lessons in Munich
Lessons take place in Maxvorstadt, near Königsplatz. I'll send you the address with your appointment confirmation.
The trial lesson in Munich is a special offer exclusively for those who would like regular in-person lessons with me in Munich.
The trial lesson lasts about 45–60 minutes, depending on how much you've prepared. Bring everything you've been working on recently (technique, etudes, pieces, etc.). We'll work on those, I'll analyse your playing and give you plenty of tips and exercises, as well as a rough overview of what we should work on going forward.
I want to offer this opportunity only to people with a genuine interest in taking violin lessons with me. That's why the trial lesson is available at an introductory price of 30 EUR.
Absolutely! All you need to bring is an instrument. I'll take care of the rest. If you need help finding an instrument, I'm happy to help and can recommend some violin makers in Munich.
In both cases, the lesson will of course be rescheduled.
Online Lessons
After booking, you'll receive a link to join the lesson on your chosen date.
Essentially just a computer (a phone or iPad works too if needed) and a reliable internet connection.
Yes, definitely! Many aspects of violin playing can be covered well online. I also have the best camera and audio equipment in my studio.
Video Analysis
The video analysis is a detailed, personal assessment based on your video recording. It's designed for violinists who want to work specifically on technique, body awareness, tone quality, and healthy playing habits.
It's especially useful if you want to work on specific technical issues, make your playing more efficient and free, or get an informed outside perspective on your current level.
I analyse your posture, the position and movement quality of hands, arms, and shoulders, any unnecessary tension, and your overall physical coordination while playing.
You'll receive a concrete assessment of your current playing in the form of an approx. 10-minute video, along with clear guidance on what to work on next, why these points matter, and which exercises will help you make targeted progress.
Yes — if you're stuck on a particular passage, experience quick fatigue, or want to work on a technical topic like shifting, double stops, bowing technique, or intonation, I can address it specifically.
Please send me a high-quality video recording of your playing. Multiple angles are ideal so that posture, movements, and technical details are clearly visible. You can use WeTransfer, SwissTransfer, or send a YouTube link.
Rescheduling & Cancellation
Rescheduling is possible up to 24 hours before the lesson. Cancellation is not possible. Payments cannot be refunded but can be transferred to the next appointment when rescheduling. Please contact me for this.
Delays can happen and are often unforeseeable. In individual cases, I'll make up the time as a courtesy. However, this is naturally not possible with regular lateness.
The most important thing is that you get well. Please cancel in good time. With timely cancellation, we can reschedule the lesson. Alternatively, we can hold the lesson online.
The full amount will be charged and there will be no replacement lesson.
General
Yes, having your own instrument is important for effective violin lessons. If you'd like to buy a violin, you can search for violin makers in Munich. Some also offer rental instruments. I'm happy to help you with this.
I don't offer group lessons and generally wouldn't recommend them. The violin is such a complex instrument that it requires individual attention. If you still want group lessons, I'd have to refer you to a music school.
You can learn violin at any age, from early childhood to adulthood. For children, starting from age 5 is recommended. But even for older adults, it's never too late to learn violin.
Yes, playing the violin can have health benefits. It promotes coordination, concentration, and emotional expression. However, healthy practice is important to avoid injuries from poor technique or overuse.
I strongly advise against it. The violin with all its movement patterns is highly complex, and bad habits are learned too quickly and are hard to correct. The path is faster and more effective with a qualified violin teacher.
Yes, definitely! Especially at the beginning or when there's still a lot of technical work to do, I strongly recommend weekly lessons. Once you're more advanced, you can reduce the frequency to every two weeks.
Yes, definitely! At 40 or any age, you can still learn violin. It's important to stay motivated and patient. Many adults start playing the violin out of pure interest or as a hobby.
The duration varies greatly depending on individual abilities, time commitment, and goals. As a complete beginner, it can take several years to develop solid technique and musical expression. Progress also depends on how regularly and intensively you practise.
