Who is the trial lesson in Munich for?
The trial lesson in Munich is a special offer exclusively for those who would like to take regular in-person lessons with me in Munich.
What is included in the €30 trial lesson?
The trial lesson lasts approximately 45–60 minutes, depending on how much you have prepared. Please bring everything you have recently worked on (technique, études, pieces, etc.). We will work on these together, I will analyze your playing, give you detailed feedback and practical exercises, and provide an overview of what we could focus on in the future.
Why is the trial lesson not free?
I want to offer this opportunity only to individuals who are genuinely interested in taking violin lessons with me. That’s why the trial lesson is available at a price of just €30.
Is the trial lesson suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! The only thing you need to bring is your instrument - I’ll take care of the rest. If you need help finding a violin, I’m happy to assist you in advance and can recommend a few violin makers in Munich.
What happens if the teacher is on a concert tour or sick?
In both cases, the lesson will of course be rescheduled and made up at a later date.

Can you really learn the violin through online lessons?
Yes, absolutely! Many aspects of violin playing can be effectively taught online. In my studio, I also use high-quality camera and audio equipment to ensure excellent sound and video quality.
Aufnahme Analyse
What is the recording analysis?
The recording analysis is a detailed and personalized feedback based on your video submission. It is designed for violinists who want to work specifically on their technique, body awareness, sound quality, and a healthy, sustainable playing approach.
What is the recording analysis particularly suitable for?
It is particularly suitable if you would like to work on specific technical issues, make your playing more efficient and free, or gain a well-founded external perspective on your current level.
What kind of feedback will I receive from the recording analysis?
Yes - if you’re struggling with a specific passage, experiencing quick fatigue, or would like to work on a technical aspect such as shifting, double stops, bow technique, or intonation, I can address these points in a focused and personalized way.
What do I need to submit for the recording analysis, and how?
Please send me a high-quality video recording of your playing. Ideally, include multiple angles so that posture, movement patterns, and technical details are clearly visible. It’s best to avoid loose clothing so I can accurately assess your movements. You can send the video via WeTransfer or SwissTransfer, or simply share a YouTube link.

What if I get sick?
Your health is the most important thing - please let me know in good time if you’re unwell. With timely notice, we can reschedule the lesson. Alternatively, we can also hold the lesson online.

The full amount will be charged, and no replacement lesson will be offered.
What happens if the teacher is on a concert tour or sick?
In both cases, the lesson will of course be rescheduled and made up at a later date.
Do I need my own instrument?
Yes, having your own instrument is essential for effective violin lessons. It’s highly recommended to own a violin, as this ensures continuity in your practice and helps you develop proper technique. If you’re looking to buy a violin, you can search for violin makers in Munich to find a suitable beginner instrument. Some of them also offer violins for rent. I’m happy to support you in finding the right option.
Do you offer group lessons?
I do not offer group lessons and generally don’t recommend them. The violin is such a complex instrument that it really requires individual attention and guidance. If you’re specifically looking for group lessons, I would have to refer you to a local music school. Many music schools in Munich offer group classes.
At what age can you start learning the violin?
You can learn the violin at any age – from early childhood to adulthood. For children, starting around the age of 5 is recommended. But even for older adults, it’s never too late to begin learning the violin. There are countless resources and lesson options available to support you on your journey, no matter your age.
Is playing the violin good for your health?
Yes, playing the violin can have several health benefits. It promotes coordination, concentration, and emotional expression. Regular practice can help improve mental well-being, and it also trains posture and fine motor skills. However, it’s important to practice the violin in a healthy and mindful way to avoid injuries caused by poor technique or overexertion.
Learning the violin as a complete beginner
As a complete beginner, it’s important to learn the fundamentals of violin playing in a structured and systematic way. This includes proper posture, bowing technique, and playing simple melodies and scales. The guidance of a violin teacher is essential for mastering the basic techniques correctly and building a solid foundation from the start.
Can you teach yourself to play the violin?
I strongly advise against it. The violin is an extremely complex instrument, especially in terms of physical movements and coordination. It’s very easy to develop bad habits early on, which can be difficult to unlearn later. Your progress will be much faster and more effective with the guidance of a qualified violin teacher. A teacher can provide you with technical advice, correct mistakes, and support you throughout your violin journey. In Munich, I offer private violin lessons tailored precisely to your needs.
Is regular violin instruction necessary?
Yes, absolutely! Especially in the beginning, or when there’s still a lot of technical work to be done, I strongly recommend weekly lessons with a violin teacher. Once you’re more advanced, it’s definitely possible to reduce the frequency to every two weeks.
Can I still learn the violin at 40?
Yes, absolutely! You can start learning the violin at 40 – or at any age. What matters most is motivation and patience. Many adults take up the violin purely out of personal interest or as a fulfilling hobby. The motivation and commitment you bring are key to your success in violin lessons. If you’re based in Munich, I’m here to support you as an adult beginner every step of the way.
How long does it take to learn the violin?
The time it takes to learn the violin varies greatly depending on individual ability, time commitment, and personal goals. As a complete beginner, it can take several years to develop solid technique and musical expression. Progress also depends on how regularly and intensively you practice. In Munich, I offer personalized learning plans tailored to your individual goals and progress.
